ทำไมต้องวัดค่า GH ?

• การเจริญเติบโตของปลาอยู่เหมือนกันจะขาดเสียเลยคงไม่เป็นผลดีนัก ปลาต้องการแคลเซียมในการสร้างกระดูกและเนื้อเยื่อ ส่วนพืช (ตะไคร่น้ำ) ต้องการแมกนีเซียมในการเจริญเติบโต
• ค่าที่เหมาะสมควรมีค่าน้อย หรือไม่มากนัก น้ำในบ่อดินญี่ปุ่นมีค่า GH ประมาณ 50 ppm , 2.9 dH เป็นค่าในอุดมคติของนักเลี้ยงปลา KOI ค่าที่มากเกินไปมีผลกับอัตราการเจริญเติบโตของปลา จึงไม่ควรเกิน 200 ppm
